Phone Chain
Mr. Helleson wanted to plan how to contact some students by phone in case a trip they were going on the next day needed to be canceled. He decided to call 1 student, who would then call 2 other students. Each of these students would then call 2 other students. This telephone chain would continue until all students had been called. Mr. H. had 31 students that were going on the trip. How many students will need to make phone calls if Mr. Helleson calls the first student?
